I was looking through some Nicaraguan soccer League and in the process got curious as to how the country’s look and feel should be like. Four mins into google searching and boom, I manage to land on your blog. I am a Nigerian, an averagely nature crazy enthusiast and die hard adventurer. Thanks for tormenting me with the tales of your trip. I am so adding Nicaragua to my “to travel list” Whether or not i set foot there before i die is entirely up for God to decide….

Ps: Your writing about danger and language barrier and 3rd world is hilarious. That’s the only life I could easily relate to.

Hi Deborah, there were no biting insects that bothered us during our time there! Not sure if there are any there, but they’re definitely not a prevalent issue. We had a few bugs in our room from time to time, but that’s to be expected when your room is open to nature as they are here

I´ll go to Nicaragua from Europe in april to work in Esteli one week. Will first arrive Managua. Don´t have much time to stay in the country to see and explore unfortunately. Hopefully able to return one day .will have 3 days to explore surroundings from arrival till I have to leave for Esteli from Managua…suggestions how to see as much possible and what to see in Nicaragua during these days?!
